Downer Engineering

Downer is one of Australia’s largest providers of engineering and infrastructure services.

Client objective

In Quarter 4 2008 Downer engineering decided to set up a shared services centre in North Ryde, Sydney. The first step in this process was to recruit for a whole new payroll team.

Process and successful outcome

AccountAbility were selected to recruit exclusively on this project. Over a 3 month period we placed a total of 45 payroll employees across temporary and permanent positions. These positions varied from the Payroll Officer right through to National Payroll Management. All roles will filled successfully and within allocated timeframes.

Campbell Arnott’s

Campbell Arnott’s is one of the largest food companies in the Asia Pacific Region, employing over 2,600 Australians, and with an annual turnover in excess of $1.3 billion.

Client Objective

The exclusive use of AccountAbility, over a 2 year period, in the recruitment of their Shared Service Centre during a large SAP implementation (Project Harmony), including the hiring of National Managers, Team Leaders, and Officers throughout Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll.

Process

  • Placement of a National Credit Manager, 2 Credit Team Leaders, and 8 Credit Officers in a permanent capacity.
  • 8 officers placed in Accounts Payable.
  • 33 temporary staff engaged whilst staffing levels fluctuated during SAP implementation.
  • A total of 24 permanent hires throughout transactional accounting.
  • Utilising our database of both active and inactive candidates developed from 5 years specialised work in accounting support recruitment.
  • Drawing from a strong network of passive and active talent, with an added reliance on both candidate & client referrals.
  • 100% fill rate of all roles assigned to AccountAbility on an exclusive basis.

Successful Outcome

All roles were filled within allocated timeframes (including a number of additional temporary positions).

Boom Sherrin

Boom Sherrin supplies Australia’s largest range of Travel Towers, Access Equipment and Material Handlers

Client objective

Since 2008, AccountAbility has assisted Boom Sherrin in Queensland in the attraction of top tier permanent and temporary accounting practitioners, principally in their credit and collections teams.

Process and successful outcome

AccountAbility has successfully placed 10 permanent roles and 24 contract positions with Boom Sherrin in Queensland since 2008, including leadership positions and urgent placements.

Sydney IVF

Sydney IVF are Australia’s leaders in Science fertility.

Client Objective

In 2009 Sydney IVF took the decision to revamp the complete structure of their accounting and administration department. This involved making the whole team redundant, changing the job descriptions for future roles and rehiring a new workforce within these areas.

Process

AccountAbility was hired as the sole recruitment company to assist in this project. Our involvement included giving advice on how the new team should be structured and how many employees would be required to undertake each particular role. All employees that has been made redundant were entitled to apply for the new positions and AccountAbility took responsibility for interviewing these candidates as well as the new applicants sourced through our own means

Successful outcome

AccountAbility successfully filled 23 permanent and 31 contract positions within allocated timeframes and the structure of the accounts department (as suggested by AccountAbility) remains in place today.
