About the role
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join a well established organisation on a 4 month temporary contract. This role has been created to provide coverage across a busy payroll function during an extended period of leave. Working as part of a small, collaborative payroll team, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate and timely payroll operations across multiple business units.
Key Responsibilities
- Process multiple weekly and fortnightly pay runs across various business divisions
- Manage end-of-year and ad hoc payroll activities including reconciliations and compliance tasks
- Generate and reconcile labour hire timesheet reports, invoices, and job costed data
- Liaise with internal stakeholders regarding payroll queries, adjustments, and approvals
- Support state payroll tax reporting and lodgements
- Maintain accurate payroll data and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and awards
- Assist with onboarding and integration of employee data from HR systems
About You
- Proven experience in end to end payroll processing within a complex, multi-entity environment
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, awards, and compliance requirements
- Comfortable working with multiple systems and Excel based calculations
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative and proactive approach
