The Client

Our client is a well‑established and reputable organisation with a strong national presence. Due to internal movement and a busy operational period, they are seeking a Payroll Officer to join their team on a 6‑month fixed‑term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a fast‑paced payroll environment and make an immediate impact.

The Role

  • End‑to‑end processing of weekly and fortnightly payroll cycles
  • Managing own portfolio of pay runs and employees
  • Processing timecards and accurate data entry
  • Handling terminations, including calculations
  • Managing back pay, tax adjustments and payroll reconciliations
  • Responding to employee payroll queries
  • Supporting Workers Compensation and other requests
  • Liaising with the Payroll Team Leader to ensure smooth payment cycles

The Person

  • Minimum 1-2 years payroll experience
  • Experience with Chris21 / iChris
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple pay cycles
  • Customer‑service focused with strong communication skills
  • High level of integrity, reliability and work ethic
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Someone switched‑on, proactive and eager to learn
