THE CLIENT
This well‑established organisation is entering a key transition period within its payroll function and is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Consultant to review, stabilise and enhance payroll operations.

THE ROLE
This initial 6‑month engagement will focus on both review and implementation, with the consultant responsible for ensuring payroll continuity while designing a scalable, compliant and sustainable payroll framework.
- Providing hands‑on oversight of monthly payroll processing completed by the Senior Payroll Officer
- Ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, reporting, reconciliations and statutory compliance
- Strengthening payroll controls, governance, audit readiness and compliance frameworks
- Ensuring compliance with Australian payroll legislation including STP, Superannuation and Payday Super
- Conducting a comprehensive review of payroll processes, systems, workflows and operating model
- Designing and implementing a best‑practice payroll governance framework
- Reducing key‑person dependency through documentation and knowledge transfer
- Partnering closely with HR, Finance and key stakeholders
- Supporting training, adoption and rollout of improved processes and controls
THE PERSON
This will suit an experienced payroll professional who enjoys operating hands‑on while also leading a strategic payroll review and transformation to redesign a best‑practice payroll operating model for the future.
- Senior Payroll Consultant / Payroll Manager level experience
- Experience in payroll transformation, compliance or system implementation
- Proven experience conducting payroll operational reviews and process redesign
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance
- ADP PayForce experience highly desirable
- Comfortable operating strategically and hands‑on
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience managing or supporting payroll team members
