About the company

Based in Melbourne's inner eastern suburbs, this innovative, market-leading organisation is a manufacturer of innovative high-quality household appliances. Due to recent movement within the organisation and rapid growth plans for the future, they are currently seeking a hands-on Assistant Accountant to join the team. This person will be reporting directly to and working closely with the Head of Finance.

About the role

Reporting directly to and working closely with the Head of Finance, you will be involved in all financial functions within the business.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Accounts receivable
  • Accounts payable
  • Reconciling accounts; both supplier and inter-company
  • Month end journals and processing adjustments
  • Weekly sales forecasting
  • Preparing commission reports
  • Processing expense claims
  • Processing supplier and freight invoices
  • Maintain fixed asset register
  • Process payroll (Kronos and ADP) for approximately 30 employees on a fortnightly basis
  • Preparing and lodging monthly tax returns
  • Process GST, prepare and lodge BAS and coordinate with ATO regarding issues

Skills and experience

In order to be successful in this role, you will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Ideally experienced in SAP (and/ or experience with other large ERP systems highly regarded)
  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Exceptional time management skills, the ability to multitask and joggle competing priorities effectively
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills as you will interact with every department within the organisation as well a variety of external stakeholders
  • The ability to tailor your language and communication style dependent on the audience
  • Computer literacy (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail
