A growing, privately held investment business is seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to support their finance team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-performing environment and is excited to take ownership of a variety of tasks while working closely with an experienced finance function.

THE ROLE

  • Perform bank reconciliations across multiple entities
  • Process invoices, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
  • Assist with monthly reporting and updating financial workpapers
  • Set up payments in banking platforms
  • Assist with broker trail and investor distributions
  • Maintain and update the loan register
  • Support BAS preparation and audit processes
  • Handle investor transactions (fund allocations, redemptions, holdings transfers)
  • Contribute to year-end financial reports and assist external auditors
  • Continuously improve financial processes, tools, and documentation

THE PERSON

  • Experience in accounts payable/receivable or bookkeeping
  • Comfortable with a high volume of transactions
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial work
  • A proactive communicator with strong written and verbal skills
  • Collaborative, trustworthy, and committed to delivering high-quality work
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs) essential
  • Experience with MYOB is desirable but not essential
