Our client is one of the largest, and fastest-growing, suppliers to the hardware industry based in the Sout East suburbs who is looking for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join the growing finance team.
The Role
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports across our group of companies, ensuring accuracy and adherence to relevant accounting standards.
- Performing general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations including prepayment and accrual posting.
- Reconciliation of bank accounts and corporate credit cards.
- Maintenance of the fixed asset register.
- Collaborating with the finance team to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Assisting in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Assisting in the month-end and year-end closing processes including supporting of interim and year-end audits.
- Assisting in the preparation of BAS and FBT lodgements across our group of companies.
- Supporting data capture and entry activities, ensuring data integrity, accurate cost allocation and confidentiality.
- Providing ad-hoc support to the broader finance team.
- Backup of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
The Candidate
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years experience in financial accounting, preferably in a similar role.
- Experience in preparing financial reports.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
- Experience in using Microsoft Dynamics
