We are currently looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to join a large and rapidly growing service provider based in Melbourne CBD to provide high quality end-to-end payroll processing for employees across Australia and New Zealand.

The role:

  • Process weekly, fortnightly and monthly ad-hoc payroll runs
  • Manual calculation of payroll (super/work cover/payroll tax etc)
  • Perform month and year-end reconciliations of payroll tax and superannuation
  • Set up new hires and the calculation and processing of termination payments, leave entitlements and other deductions
  • Provide timely, accurate payroll advice and support to employees and managers

Desired skills:

  • Great communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise work and has excellent time management skills
  • Experience with high-volume processing
  • Previous experience using one or more business payroll solution(s)- (eg. EmpowerHR, PayGlobal, Jade Star or Infinet Cloud Payroll favourable but not essential)
  • Advanced Excel skills - VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros etc.
  • Experience with working across multiple states/territories and interpretation of EBA's and Awards
  • Knowledge of payroll legislation and regulations across both Australia and New Zealand
  • Ability to work autonomously in a large team
