Payroll Manager

  • $140,000 - $160,000 + Super | Sydney, CBD, 2000| 5 Days Office
  • Lead a complex, high-volume payroll function across ANZ
  • Play a key role in an upcoming payroll system upgrade and cycle transition

THE ROLE

  • Managing monthly payroll across Australia and New Zealand
  • Overseeing deadline-driven payment runs, including commissions, bonuses and terminations
  • Ownership and strengthening of payroll controls, governance, and risk mitigation processes
  • Leading change management initiatives including payroll system, parallel testing and transition from fortnightly to monthly payroll
  • Managing manual timesheet processes in Excel including overtime and varying award rates
  • Interpreting awards - strong award knowledge is critical
  • Partnering with executives, senior finance, HR, employees and external authorities to resolve complex payroll matters

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 4+ years' experience in payroll, including experience in a Payroll Lead or Payroll Manager capacity within a large organisation
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation; exposure to NZ payroll highly desirable
  • Experience managing payroll tax, terminations, LSL, redundancy, bonuses and taxation impacts
  • Previous payroll system transition experience highly regarded
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence managing manual data processes\
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to articulate complex payroll issues clearly
  • Resilient personality suited to a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Full working rights or openness to visa sponsorship
