About the company:
We're seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join a reputable organisation on a part time basis located in the northern suburbs. The position is a standalone position and will run for up to 12 months. It will be ideal for someone looking to take ownership of the payroll function and work cohesively with the finance team.
The position
As the Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for:
- End-to-end fortnightly payroll processing via Sage MicroPay and UKG workforce ready.
- Accurately process workers compensation, payroll tax, PAYG and superannuation payments
- Preparation of weekly and monthly and ad-hoc payroll reports
- Complete manual payroll calculations for redundancies, terminations, backpays and all other relevant ad-hock payments
- Basic administrative HR functions such as employee contract issuance and onboarding tasks
- Assist with integration project of new payroll system
About you:
- Experience of time & attendance practices and rostering principles
- Exposure to Sage MicrOpay / UKG Workforce ready will be highly regarded
- Current knowledge of employment legislation & processes including Awards, PAYG STP reporting, payroll tax, workcover and superannuation
- The ability to work in a high volume and deadline-driven environment and deliver results with accuracy
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience implementing new systems and change management experience will be highly regarded
