A successful, privately held investment firm is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join their on-site finance team in Double Bay, 2028. Please note: This is an on-site role based in Sydney, Australia (Double Bay). Only candidates currently living in Australia with full working rights will be considered. Applicants must have at least four years of experience in a similar role.

Your Day-to-Day
Perform reconciliations across multiple entities
Manage accounts payable and receivable
Assist with monthly reporting and maintain financial workpapers
Prepare and process payments using online banking platforms
Assist with broker trail commissions and investor distributions
Maintain and update the loan register
Support BAS preparation and liaise with auditors
Handle investor transactions (allocations, redemptions, transfers)
Assist with year-end financial reports and external audit support
Contribute to process improvements across systems and documentation
What You Bring
A minimum of 4 years' experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar role
Currently based in Australia with unrestricted work rights
Proven ability to manage high-volume transactions with accuracy
Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A team player who takes ownership and delivers high-quality work
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables essential)
MYOB experience is helpful but not required
