About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead a well-established payroll function for a large, multi-site organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive team and oversee payroll operations for a high-volume workforce.
You'll manage a team of 3 and ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing. This role offers the chance to step into a stable environment while driving process improvements and contributing to strategic payroll initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for a large workforce across multiple sites.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements (EA).
- Manage statutory reporting including Single Touch Payroll (STP) and other ATO requirements.
- Oversee superannuation, leave entitlements, termination payments and payroll tax obligations.
- Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and prepare accurate reports for stakeholders.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of payroll professionals, including mentoring and coaching team members for career growth.
- Drive process improvements and system enhancements in collaboration with HR.
- Provide timely and professional support for employee payroll queries.
About You
- At least 2 years' experience managing a payroll team in a high-volume environment.
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation, awards and enterprise agreements (EA).
- Proven leadership skills with experience coaching and developing payroll teams.
- Experience working with large ERP payroll systems.
- Advanced Excel skills for reporting and analysis.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Tertiary qualifications in payroll, finance or HR are desirable.
