We are currently looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to join a large retail organisation who are rapidly growing across the globe. This role will see you responsible for the end to end payroll of the NZ offices.

The role:

  • Process, fortnightly payroll runs of approx 300 employees
  • Manual calculation of payroll (super/work cover/payroll tax etc)
  • Perform month and year-end reconciliations of payroll tax and superannuation
  • Set up new hires and the calculation and processing of termination payments, leave entitlements and other deductions
  • Provide timely, accurate payroll advice and support to employees and managers

Desired skills:

  • Great communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise work and has excellent time management skills
  • Experience with high-volume processing
  • Previous experience using one Kronos/Preceda highly advantageous
  • Advanced Excel skills - VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros etc.
  • Experience with working across multiple states/territories and interpretation of EBA's and Awards
  • Knowledge of payroll legislation and regulations across both Australia and New Zealand
  • Ability to work autonomously in a large team

This role is initially a 1-2 month contract with the view to perm at the end of the contract. There is plenty of opportunity for growth within the business.

Please note that during the contract period the role will be 100% in offices based in Hawthorn and with WFH flex available after this training period.
