An exciting short-term opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Officer or AP Team Leader to support a high‑performing finance team during a period of transition. This assignment will run for 1-2 months, with a strong likelihood of extension for the right person.
You'll initially play a key hands‑on role in helping clear a significant AP backlog, before shifting your focus to process improvement, troubleshooting and strengthening workflows as the team moves into a more stabilised phase.

About the role:
- End-to-end Accounts Payable processing across high invoice volumes
- Clearing a large backlog efficiently within the first 4-6 weeks
- Identifying gaps, inconsistencies and improvement opportunities across AP workflows
- Assisting with the creation and refinement of processes during change
- Providing guidance and support to a team of 4-5, acting as a problem-solver and go-to person
- Managing AP queries and ensuring timely follow‑up
- Supporting team operations while the AP Manager is away
- Contributing to automation tasks, system enhancements and Excel reporting where required
What we're looking for: - Strong end-to-end AP experience at a Senior AP or AP Team Leader level
- A continuous improvement mindset with demonstrated process enhancement experience
- Ability to quickly spot issues and recommend practical solutions
- Fast learner who adapts quickly to new systems and environments
- Hands-on, proactive and confident clearing backlogs
- Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, data cleansing preferred)
- Experience with automation, optimisation or system improvements highly regarded
- Exposure to AlayaCare or PeopleSoft is ideal but not essential
- Immediately available or able to start at short notice
