Excellent opportunity for an experienced Payroll Officer to join a well-established organisation in a highly service-focused environment.
This role will suit a payroll professional who enjoys working in a structured, compliance-driven environment, thrives on accuracy, and takes pride in delivering high-quality customer service. You will support the Payroll Manager in the delivery of fortnightly payroll, with full responsibility during periods of leave.

THE ROLE
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end processing of fortnightly payroll, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, Awards, Enterprise Agreements and internal policies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Administer, calculate and process fortnightly payroll (manual and automated payments)
- Process payroll exception reports, data entry and EFT disbursements
- Manage PAYG tax obligations and ensure accurate taxation reporting prior to payment summaries
- Interpret Awards and Enterprise Agreements accurately and consistently
- Reconcile payroll accounts quarterly and ensure balances are accurate
- Prepare monthly and ad hoc payroll reports including headcount and leave liability reporting
- Manage payroll inbox queries and provide high-quality customer service to employees
- Take full responsibility for payroll operations during the Payroll Manager's leave
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Demonstrated at least 3 years payroll experience in a similar role
- Proven understanding of payroll and basic accounting procedure
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, Awards and Enterprise Agreements
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage high-volume transactions
- Excellent time management and ability to meet strict payroll deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A friendly, positive disposition with a strong customer service mindset
